Privacy Policy

Privacy Promise

Zita is built to remember what you ask her to remember, not to turn your reminders into a data product. We use personal information only to provide, secure, support, bill for, and comply with the reminder service.

We do not sell reminder content, use reminder content to build advertising profiles, or keep reminder content because it might be useful someday. We keep what Zita needs to serve you, then delete or de-identify reminder content when it no longer has an operational, legal, billing, security, carrier-compliance, dispute-handling, or support purpose.

1. Information We Collect

Zita is operated by Mela Roo, Inc., a Louisiana C corporation, 201 Rue Beauregard, Ste 202, Lafayette, Louisiana 70508, USA. Privacy and deletion requests may be sent to privacy@zitatext.com.

Zita collects information needed to verify phones, deliver reminders, operate billing, prevent abuse, and provide customer care.

  • Phone numbers, verification status, one-time-code activity, phone-login identifiers, preferred names when provided, and referral codes or referral status.
  • SMS opt-in consent text, consent version, consent timestamp, IP address, and user-agent evidence.
  • Reminder text, reminder schedules, delivery status, inbound commands, and SMS metadata.
  • Billing status and Stripe identifiers, such as customer, checkout, invoice, subscription, payment intent, and saved payment method identifiers.
  • Website attribution data such as landing page, referrer, UTM source, UTM medium, UTM campaign, UTM content, UTM term, browser storage identifiers used for the current session, and signup conversion events.
  • Support emails, abuse reports, security signals, rate-limit records, and operational logs.

2. How We Use Information

We use information to verify phone ownership, send verification texts, deliver reminder texts, personalize occasional service messages with your preferred name, administer referral credits, process STOP, START, HELP, DONE, SNOOZE, LIST, UNSUBSCRIBE, standard single-word carrier opt-out commands, and other reminder commands, stop or restart SMS-only active-week billing when you request or use the service, process billing, enforce usage limits, troubleshoot failures, protect the service, maintain required compliance records, measure website performance and signup conversion, and answer support requests.

Reminder content is service data. We use it to understand the reminder you asked for, schedule it, send it back, troubleshoot delivery, prevent abuse, and satisfy legal or carrier obligations. We do not use reminder content for unrelated advertising, resale, or marketing profiles.

3. SMS Opt-In Sharing

Zita does not sell, rent, or share mobile numbers or SMS opt-in consent with third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes.

We may share information with service providers only as needed to operate Zita, including sending SMS messages, processing payments, hosting the service, preventing abuse, meeting carrier or legal requirements, and providing customer care. These providers are not permitted to use SMS opt-in consent for their own marketing.

4. Service Providers

Zita may use SMS providers such as Telnyx or Twilio, payment processors such as Stripe, hosting and security providers such as Cloudflare, email providers, Google advertising or conversion tools, analytics or logging tools, and customer support tools. Payment card details are handled by Stripe and are not stored directly by Zita.

Zita may use cookies, local storage, session storage, pixels, and similar browser technologies to keep signup state, remember referral or attribution data during a visit, prevent abuse, and measure whether the website and signup flow are working. These tools do not use reminder content and do not allow service providers to use SMS opt-in consent for their own marketing.

5. Retention

We keep personal information only as long as needed to operate Zita, deliver reminders, maintain billing records, document SMS consent, process opt-out, HELP, and other required commands, prevent fraud and abuse, meet carrier and legal obligations, resolve disputes, and provide customer care.

Reminder content and reminder schedules are deleted or de-identified after they have served their operational purpose, unless we need a limited record for security, billing, abuse prevention, carrier compliance, legal obligations, dispute handling, or support. We do not keep reminder text just in case, and we do not keep it to build advertising profiles.

Some records must last longer than a single reminder. For example, SMS opt-in proof, opt-out and HELP records, payment records, abuse-prevention records, and legal or accounting records may be retained after account closure when needed to honor your choices, prove consent, prevent unwanted messages, or comply with law and carrier rules.

6. Deletion Requests

You can contact privacy@zitatext.com to request deletion of personal information associated with your phone number. We will delete or de-identify information we no longer need, subject to records we must keep for billing, security, fraud prevention, SMS compliance, carrier requirements, legal obligations, or dispute handling.

Replying STOP opts out, stops all messages for that phone number, and stops SMS-only active-week billing where applicable. Stopping messages does not immediately erase every required compliance record, because we may need to remember that the number opted out so we do not text it again. Standard single-word carrier opt-out commands are also honored.

7. Your Choices

  • Reply STOP to opt out, stop all messages for a phone number, and stop SMS-only active-week billing where applicable.
  • Reply HELP for help instructions.
  • Contact privacy@zitatext.com for access, deletion, or privacy requests.
  • Contact support@zitatext.com for account help or customer care.

8. Security And Encryption

Zita uses technical and operational safeguards such as encryption in transit, encryption at rest where supported by our databases, storage systems, and service providers, access controls, rate limits, provider signature verification, and monitoring. Payment card details are handled by Stripe and are not stored directly by Zita.

Access to production data is limited to people and systems that need it to operate, secure, support, troubleshoot, bill for, or comply with the service. No internet or SMS service can guarantee perfect security.

9. Children

Zita is not intended for children under 13. Do not use Zita if you are not old enough to enter into these terms or provide consent for text messages in your jurisdiction.

10. Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy as the service, carrier requirements, or legal obligations change. The updated date above shows the latest version.
